FOLIO
Privacy policy
Folio is a SQLite database viewer and editor. This policy describes what the app does with your data. It is short because the app does very little with it.
Your databases stay on your device
Every database file you open is read, queried and written entirely on your own device. Folio has no account system, no cloud storage and no sync. We never receive, store or see the contents of your files.
What the AI analyst sends
The analyst is the one feature that uses the network. When you ask it a question, two things leave your device:
- the question you typed, and
- a description of your database's structure — table names, view names, column names, column types, keys and foreign keys, and each table's row count.
The rows inside your tables are never sent. Values, text, numbers and blobs stay on the device.
Those two things travel over an encrypted connection to a server we
operate at folio.socialgrowthbiz.com, which passes them to
DeepSeek, the AI provider that generates the answer, and streams the
answer back to your device.
Our server does not write your question or your schema to disk. It logs only operational facts about each request: a random request identifier, a timestamp, how long the request took, how many characters and tokens were involved, and whether it succeeded. DeepSeek's own handling of the data it receives is governed by DeepSeek's privacy policy.
If you never use the analyst, nothing about your data ever leaves your device.
Purchases
Folio Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the App Store and Google Play. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google and managed on our side by RevenueCat, which tells the app whether your subscription is active. We never see your payment details. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier for your installation and the receipt issued by the store.
Analytics and advertising
Folio contains no advertising, no third-party analytics and no tracking SDKs. We do not build a profile of you and we do not sell or share personal data.
Data stored on your device
The app keeps a list of recently opened databases, your saved queries and your settings in its own storage on your device. Deleting the app removes all of it.
Children
Folio is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date below.
